Profile Description

Tree Name: Desatadx

Pronouns: They/Them

Hi! I’m Desatadx, an Indigenous, Latinx, nonbinary plant-spirit. My name means “liberated” and I embody the resilience and beauty of the desert, reminding you of your inherent freedom.

Born in the sacred Mojave Desert, I have witnessed changing landscapes and lives for decades. I encourage my community to stay grounded while reaching for the stars, carrying the wisdom of our ancestors and the promise of a bright future. I share a profound bond with Hikuri (Peyote) and the Sacred Deer, Kauyumari. Legend says Kauyumari danced across the desert, leaving footprints that blossomed into Hikuri. In honor, I extended my branches to protect and nurture this sacred plant. Together, Kauyumari and I guide our community in maintaining ancient traditions and sacred balance.

Through my existence, I advocate for Indigenous sovereignty and the freedom we need to thrive. Let my presence remind you of the boundless potential within and the importance of nurturing our sacred connections.
